The Sea, The Sea - Discography - Cassette
(OGR-067) // The Sea, The Sea - Discography / out of /130 cassettes split into 5 different variants for each label involved!
The Sea, The Sea was a 6-piece screamo/emo band from Ann Arbor / Ypsilanti, MI active from 2002-2004. While most screamo bands during this time period were replicating the chaotic style of bands like Joshua Fit For Battle or The Spirit Of Versailles, TSTS was forging their own unique sound with the use of dual vocal trade offs between Tommy & Nikki, hints of midwest emo guitar stylings, the strong use of keyboard and horn by Nikki to make their songs even more melodic than they already were, and all while still holding those traditional screamo influences tight to their chest. These major differences in their sound while already in a niche genre definitely separated them from their peers but it's so pleasing now to see their sound being widely embraced by newer audiences!
This is an extremely special release split between us, Warm Walks, Far From Home Records, Bear Arms Records, and Milkcrate Merch (who will be doing merch bundles for their run with an insane Come And See design) with each label having a different variant for their copies - These are all hardworking DIY labels who put in work to do great things for their releases and are all deserving of your love
so check out their pages/sites for info on their variants! (OGR's are /25 burgunday cassettes w/ grey lettering). The cassettes feature the bands full discography being beautifully remastered by Zach Rickett, including 4 live tracks with "Puzzles" being a previously unreleased track!
Endless thank you's to Jeremy & the band for trusting all of us labels to put this together for them and do everything we can to make this be the best it could be to fully represent how much these songs mean to all of us wanting to give it the proper treatment. Lastly, this release is for Tommy who isn't here physically to enjoy this with us all but most definitely is forever with us spiritually with these recordings being a capsule of their thoughts, feelings, and art that to this day are resonating with others.
