"Self-described as "Skramz from the depths of Kennesaw", /hospitality/ formed back in March of '23 and have been playing shows and eating sandwiches in Atlanta, the Midwest and East Coast ever since, and, in terms of releases, had put out a lo-fi live demo and a now-lost single. Comprising Jack, Jaden, Justin (all guitar & vocals), Alex (bass), and Dan (drums), this young band has patiently accumulated an album's worth of material, arriving seemingly fully formed with a record that displays assuredness and ambition.

From its brooding opening through to the monumentally miserable yet absolutely awesome closing track, 'the embers beneath me', /hospitality/ live up to their name, making sure that all your emoviolence, skramz and noise needs are catered for. They can build mood and atmosphere with patient builds, explode with chaotic abandon, and even inject their assault with melodies that are designed to be remembered long after the initial concussive force has worn off.

'Bart Cup' is a contender for single of the year with its indelible harmonic feedback hook; 'I'm Still Spinning' barrels along with the desperate urgency of prime Sonic Youth; 'Salt Water' oscillates between Orchid-esque intensity & breezy 90s slacker rock. And then there's the stylistic outlier, 'Cognitive Dissonance', a track that, with its deep spoken vocal delivery and descent into a cacophonous swirl of feedback squall, clattering drums and manic exclamations, brings to mind the experimental noise rock of @spraintheband's 'The Lamb as Effigy'.

TL;DR When you finish listening, you'll still be spinning." - @stopcallingthemscreamo
